Mr. Kenichi Yajima graduated from the Shibaura Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked for a manufacturer as an engineer. One year after working in the manufacturing industry, he left the company to pursue a career as an accountant. To do so, he started studying for the Japanese CPA examination.
In 1992, he passed the Japanese CPA examination and started working for a big CPA firm in Japan. During that time, he mainly audited SEC companies and other public companies in a variety of industries, and occasionally joined special project teams to meet the needs of clients in areas such as internal control, business valuation, tax consultation, and financial analysis.
In 1997, Mr. Yajima left the big firm and came to New York as a student. During his time in New York, he learned English and obtained the accounting credits necessary to take the US CPA examination. As a result of his efforts, he passed the US CPA test in 1999 and went back to Japan in 2000.
After returning to Japan, not only did he continue to audit SEC companies in Japan, but also provided a variety of services, such as preparation of comfort letters and annual reports.
In 2003, he came to the United States again and worked for a mid-size accounting firm. He handled numerous Japanese clients located in the United States. Also he supervised managers and staff members, and reviewed financial statements as a technical reviewer. In late 2007, he joined Hotta Liesenberg Saito as a senior manager and continues to provide high-quality services to Japanese clients based on his considerable accounting knowledge and experience obtained both in the Unites States and Japan.
