Mr. Wesemann graduated from the University of Utah in 1991 and joined the Los Angeles office of Hotta Liesenberg Saito in the following year. During the next several years as HLS experienced rapid growth in revenues and staff, Mr. Wesemann assumed responsibility for managing the accounting services provided to many of the firm's larger clients and for training incoming accounting staff members. His hard work and dedication to the firm, his coworkers, and clients contributed to his advancement to the position of Manager in 1996.
In 1998, Mr. Wesemann left HLS to pursue an interest in working in the manufacturing field. He worked for one year managing the accounting of an environmental waste treatment and reprocessing plant before accepting a position as the accounting manager for a manufacturer of home building products with sales of $250 million per year. During this time, he began work on an MBA degree at the University of Southern California while working full time, graduating with honors in 2002.
In 2001, Mr. Wesemann decided that he missed the excitement and challenges of public accounting and returned to HLS as a Senior Manger. Since then, he has taken responsibility for quality control and keeping the firm current with the ever changing requirements of the accounting profession. Mr. Wesemann works primarily in the areas of financial reporting, attestation services, special projects, and as technical advisor for audit and review engagements. He especially enjoys working on consulting and advisory engagements that allow him to be actively involved with a client’s operations.
Away from the office, Mr. Wesemann enjoys competing in sports, especially golf, tennis, and basketball. He does regular volunteer work with youth groups and connects well with young people of all ages. He has lived for two years in Japan and has a good working knowledge of the Japanese language and culture.
