Mr. Kasuyama earned his B.S. degree in accounting from California State College at Los Angeles and went to work for a local public accounting firm in 1973 which specialized in serving subsidiaries of Japanese companies.
In 1983, the firm was acquired by Deloitte & Touche to become the Japanese practice of their Los Angeles office. Another merger resulted in the firm having the largest Japanese practice in the United States.
As a firm director, Mr. Kasuyama served as the lead client service provider on a variety of large and mid-sized audit clients in various businesses, including automotive, manufacturing and distribution. He also had quality control responsibilities for approximately 10 years within the Japanese services group.
Mr. Kasuyama joined Hotta Liesenberg Saito in 2004 to become the Partner of Quality Control. With his extensive audit and quality control experience, Mr. Kasuyama has enhanced the quality of the firm's audit and review services. His extensive experience in serving Japanese subsidiaries and technical background provide an additional source to better serve clients.
His responsibilities within HLS include providing: the final technical review of financial statements before their issuance; in-house training; and consultation to professional staff and clients.
During his time away from work, Mr. Kasuyama enjoys viewing videos from his diverse collection, reading, and participating in a fantasy baseball league. He has also regularly provided voluntary accounting work for a not-for-profit arts organization for more than 15 years.
